Jon- Bass and Vocals

Jon grew up on the outskirts of New York City and cut his teeth on the R&B, Rock, Jazz, and Fusion styles thriving in the Big Apple.  At 14 years of age Jon got his first bass as a birthday gift from his father and never looked back.  The connection and talent with the instrument was instant and powerful. During high school Jon performed with older, more accomplished musicians who would often pick him up from school to play gigs at music venues throughout the New England area.

jon_rayUpon completing high school Jon started college at The State University of New York (SUNY) at Purchase, NY, a music and arts conservatory.  While a freshman waiting to be admitted into the university's music program, the Dean of SUNY's Music Department saw Jon performing at the campus pub with some of the top senior students.  The Dean approached Jon in the halls the next day and said, "I saw you perform at campus pub last night.  I'll sign you into the music program next semester...don't worry about an audition."

After SUNY Jon moved to Atlanta, GA to pursue his career in music.  Since then he has toured in the US, Europe, and Canada.  In 2003 he was a member of Delta Moon which won the International Blues Challenge.  He is a first call sub for live dates and a sought after session player.  He is currently active performing for regional tours, corporate event bands, local venues, church gigs, and recording sessions. Jon currently plays about 250 dates a year.
